General

POV Syncer is an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Silicon Mac app that automatically syncs your photos to POV camera video using EXIF timestamps. It transforms footage from cameras like Ray-Ban Meta, GoPro, DJI Action, and Insta360 — or any camera that writes EXIF DateTimeOriginal — into polished, shareable videos with photo overlays, AI narration, and more.
POV Syncer works with any camera that saves EXIF timestamp data, including Ray-Ban Meta glasses, GoPro Hero series, DJI Action cameras, Insta360 cameras, and most DSLR/mirrorless cameras. Your phone photos also work.
POV Syncer requires iOS 16.0 or later. It runs natively on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Silicon Macs (in "Designed for iPad" mode). One App Store purchase covers all three.
Photo matching, editing, and export all work offline. AI voice narration requires an internet connection for voice synthesis. The app itself works fully offline once downloaded.

How do I…?

Quick answers to specific tasks, each linking straight to the relevant step in our tutorials. The workflow is the same on iPhone, iPad and Mac.

On the Home screen, pick a Video Source and a Photo Source — choose Photos Library or Files App for each, then add everything from your session. POV Syncer reads only metadata up front, so big imports stay fast. See it step by step →
Tap Preview Matches. The Match Preview shows how many videos matched, how many were skipped, and how many will be processed — so you never waste a render. How to read the Match Preview →
On the Results screen, tap Save on a video's row, give it a name, and tap Save. POV Syncer stores the video and its full timeline so you can re-edit later without reprocessing. Saving a project →
Open the Projects tab and tap any saved project to reopen it in the timeline editor. Use Edit to remove ones you no longer need. Opening a saved project →
Tap Export on a finished video to open Export & Share — then AirDrop it, Save to Camera Roll, or post straight to TikTok, Instagram Reels or Stories. Exporting & sharing →
Tap Export All at the top of the Results screen and confirm Save to Photos — every successfully processed video is written to your library in one step. Export all to Photos →
Tap Trim on a video, drag the Cut from Start and Cut from End handles, and Re-render. The trimmed duration updates live. Trimming a clip →
Tap Timing to shift the shutter click earlier or later relative to each photo's EXIF timestamp, and set how long after the click the photo fades in. Use a small negative offset if photos land a beat late. Adjusting timing →
Open the Timeline editor, tap Aa Title in the add bar, then edit the text, duration, font and on-screen position. Adding a title overlay →
In the timeline editor tap Voice, type your script, choose Device Voice or an AI Voice such as Sonia (British), preview it, and set the background mix. Adding AI voice → · Full AI voice guide →
Tap Timeline on any video for five tracks — Photos, Titles, Voice, Effects and Audio — with drag-and-drop, trim handles, split-at-playhead, and add buttons for titles, voice, sound, music and more. Timeline editor walkthrough →
The Settings tab holds the global defaults for every render — shutter sound, photo match tolerance, display duration, audio timing, export quality and format, text overlay style, AI voice and more. Settings deep dive →
From the Results screen choose Share Logs, describe what went wrong, and Send. Only log messages and basic device info are uploaded — never your photos or video. You'll get a Reference ID to quote to support. Sending logs → · Troubleshooting guide →
On an Apple Silicon Mac, search the App Store, switch to the iPhone & iPad Apps tab, and install the "Designed for iPad" version. It runs in a resizable window with full keyboard and trackpad. Install on Mac → · Running on Mac guide →

Photo Matching

POV Syncer reads the EXIF timestamps embedded in your photos and matches them to the corresponding moments in your video. It uses a 4-strategy priority system: GPS UTC timestamps, OffsetTimeOriginal, GPS-corrected timezone, and device timezone fallback. This gives you frame-accurate photo placement without any manual work.
You can use the per-video timing offset adjustment to fine-tune photo placement. This is useful if your camera's clock was slightly off. You can also drag photos on the timeline to manually reposition them.
No. While GPS timestamps provide the most accurate matching, POV Syncer falls back to other EXIF timestamp strategies when GPS data isn't available. Most cameras and phones save at least a DateTimeOriginal field that works well.
Up to 2,000 of each per session — comfortably enough for a full day's shoot. Each video also caps overlay rendering at 100 photos per clip to keep memory and battery safe; if a single video has more than 100 matches, POV Syncer picks 100 evenly spaced across the timeline and tells you in the log.

Editing & Export

You can export as MP4 or MOV at Medium (720p), High (1080p), or Highest (original resolution) quality. Direct sharing to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, AirDrop, Messages, and Camera Roll is supported.
Yes, Pro users can import multiple video clips into a single project. You can split, duplicate, and trim clips on the visual timeline.
POV Syncer Pro offers six Azure Speech neural voices — Sonia and Ryan (British English), Jenny and Guy (American English), and Natasha and William (Australian English). You can adjust rate and pitch, save generated clips to a reusable Voice Library, and bake karaoke captions from the spoken text. Free users can record their own custom voiceover directly in the app instead.
